Book-E-Kids is a reading app for families. By creating a household or using the app you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose; if anything is unclear, ask us at [email protected].
Who holds the account
The account holder must be a parent or legal guardian, aged 18 or over. Children use the app through profiles inside that account and never have accounts of their own. You are responsible for what happens under your household, including who you invite into a group and who knows your password.
What it costs
Nothing. Book-E-Kids has no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads. We will not start charging for anything you can do today without telling you first and asking you to agree.
Groups are private
Reading groups are invitation-only and made up of families who know each other. Share invite codes only with people you trust. Keep group names and children's display names free of anything that identifies a child to strangers, such as a surname, a school or a street.
Being kind
The little text that is visible to other families (children's display names, avatars and group names) must not be abusive, hateful or misleading. We may rename or remove content that breaks this rule, remove a household from a group, or close an account that is used to harm others. We will tell you if we do, unless the law stops us.
Your data
What we keep and why is in the privacy notice. You can export everything and delete the whole household from the Grown-ups area at any time.
Books and catalogues
Book titles, authors and covers come from public catalogues and belong to their publishers. We show them so a child can recognise the book in their hands; we do not sell or distribute the books themselves.
The service
We work to keep Book-E-Kids available and accurate, but it comes without any guarantee, and we may change or stop features. Where the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the app. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, the app will ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in. The date at the top tells you which version this is.
